We visited the Tea Room at the Clarence on a Tuesday evening. Whilst not full there were several other diners, which created some ambiance in this old chapel style restaurant. Music was good and unobtrusive, as was the service. A change of table was catered for without fuss. The food was very good indeed. We chose from the Market Menu for €39 and all three courses were excellent. I would particularly recommend the starter and desssert 'taster' courses. Bono's restaurant enjoyed by a non-U2 fan!!

We went to the Clarence for a cup of tea. Quite minimalistic and trendy with very pleasant bar staff. There is a definate feeling of awe when you walk in the place, though a signed U2 CD and ipod in a display case seemed a bit tacky. However, thats why we were there and we entered with intrepidation that we might, just might, get a glimpse of Bono. Sadly, there were no rockers in that day, but it was a really nice experience in a nice part of town. If you are in Dublin, make a cuppa at the Clarence part of your itinery, purely to tell the folks at home.
