Lovely French Bistro in Dublin City Centre. Small and charming decor. Food and service of very high standard. Really enjoyed the evening. Reasonably priced too.

I and 10 friends ate at the Blackboard Bistro last saturday night to celebrate the upcoming marriage of two of our close friends. First off the restaurant style is a small cafe rather than a bistro. Although the service was good we were all very disappointed with the food. The menu was poor with a variety of 'tartlets' as starters and an overly zealous description of 'sugared salmon' which turned out to be smoked salmon with creme fraiche and a few herbs. The main course were tiny. My duck was overcooked and tough, and my husband felt the same about his steak. Desert was disappointing. The bill was 90 euros per person. We definately will NOT be returning. If you want to spend this kind of money there are better restaurants in Dublin.
